2020 TOYOTA RAV4

Right about the time I’d passed 30 miles of all-electric driving with the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid, I knew this experience was going to be different. There was plenty of charge left.  With an expected EPA-rated 42-mile range from a big 18.1-kwh battery pack, the RAV4 Prime promises to transport commuters to work and back again without tailpipe emissions or the need to find another charge along the way. And then it becomes a 38-mpg hybrid after running through the charge, That and the Prime's suggested availability across the U.S., not just in California or a few select states, means it picks up right where the Chevy Volt left off .  Even better, it is the hottest crossover in these crossover-crazy times. The RAV4 is not only the top-selling SUV in the U.S. market for three years; the RAV4 Hybrid was also the top-selling hybrid in America last year—handily outselling the Toyota Prius.  The Prime finally checks nearly all the tech and special-needs boxes. It has a

RANGE ROVER EVOQUE PHEV(plug-in-hybrid vehicle) P300e

Land Rover has revealed the new Range Rover Evoque PHEV – a plug-in hybrid version of the popular style-focussed small SUV.
The new Range Rover Evoque PHEV has been revealed. This plug-in hybrid SUV can return more than 200mpg and costs from £43,850.
New Range Rover Evoque PHEV engine and motor

The new Range Rover Evoque PHEV – called the P300e – comes with a 200hp 1.5-litre petrol engine at the front and an electric motor at the back. The petrol engine produces 200hp while the electric motor contributes 109hp.
Because the electric motor drives the rear wheels, the new Evoque PHEV comes with four-wheel drive as standard – unlike the standard Evoque that can be had with just front-wheel drive. Every Evoque PHEV comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
The new Evoque comes with a 309hp combination of electric motor and three-cylinder petrol engine.

Under the bonnet of both models is the same ‘P300e’ powertrain, which combines a new 147kW 1.5-litre turbocharged ‘Ingenium’ three-cylinder petrol engine with an 80kW electric motor located on the rear axle for combined outputs of 227kW of power and 540Nm of torque.
Energy is stored in a 15kWh lithium-ion battery pack located underneath the rear seats.
‌new turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor tucked into the rear axle and a 15 kilowatt-hour battery
‌provide 305 horsepower and 372 pound-feet of torque, and a new eight-speed automatic handles gear changes. All-wheel drive is, of course, still part of the package.

‌ model, they'll go up to 84 mph on battery power alone before the engine kicks in to handle some of the duty.
‌bit in fuel economy estimates and purely electric range ratings, but they're pretty darn good
‌The Range Rover Evoque P300e should return 41 miles on a full charge and return 201 miles per gallon equivalent under European testing standards.
‌The hybrid system tucks away neatly with the lithium-ion pack stowed below the rear seats and the high-voltage junction box integrated under the front seats, and right next to it resides a belt-integrated starter generator inverter to send regenerated energy from the brakes to the battery pack, or to the all-wheel drive system.
‌Drivers can choose from three modes to operate the Land Rover plug-in models, Hybrid, EV and Save, to either let the full powertrain operate, run solely on electric power or use the engine as the primary power source. When there's no juice left, it should take about 30 minutes for a full charge with a DC fast charger, so drivers shouldn't need to worry about long charging times.

‌The electric motor isn’t just there to boost efficiency, it also helps the Range Rover Evoque PHEV sprint from 0-60mph in less than 6.4 seconds. You can alter how the Evoque uses its motor by switching between its three driving modes. Hybrid mode uses both the engine and the motor, EV mode switches off the petrol engine and Save mode relies more heavily on the petrol engine, using it to drive the car and re-charge the batteries on the move.
‌New Range Rover Evoque PHEV performance and driving
The new Range Rover Evoque can drive for 41 miles on a single battery charge. Charging it from empty takes just under 90 minutes using a 7kW home wall-mounted charger, but you can boost its charge by 80% in just 30 minutes using a 32kw public charging point.
‌Range Rover Evoque P300e plug-in hybrid
Land Rover's PHEV system is at its most efficient in the Evoque, where Land Rover claims an all-electric range of 66 kilometres, combined fuel economy on the stringent European WLTP cycle of 1.4 litres per 100 kilometres, and combined WLTP CO2 emissions of just 32 grams per kilometre.
New Range Rover Evoque PHEV price and release date
The new Range Rover Evoque PHEV is on sale now. You can get it in S, SE and HSE specifications, with the entry-level S versions costing from £43,850.
